I had a great day today. The morning began with me lugging my heavy violin case to school. Thanks to my kind neighbour, I didn't have to lug it to school, but back home only. I'll elaborate about my violin later. Anyway, the day passed by pretty fast and i heaved the violin case down to the canteen.
During our lunch break, Daniel Kong and I exchanged a few questions and answers about each other's instruments. He told me about his guitar and, roughly, how to select a good guitar. At the end of our lunch break, we headed upstairs and awaited the what else the day had in store for me. While in the RSP room, I took some time to practice my other pieces as I have grown rusty after not practicing for a while.
Then, the new batch of RSPers came into the room. For the first time, I truly noticed how many of them there were. After a brief introduction for the sec 1s, we went on a small tour of the RSP room. After the rather disordered tour, we proceeded on to 'the amazing race'. Some of us went along with the groups of juniors to make sure they didn't get, well, lost. Most of the proceedings went fine untill we got the last clue, which throughly stumped me and my team. It was only later whe I realised what the clue meant.
When we finally reached the ending point, which was the RSP room(BIG surprise), my team broke up and all of us had to wait for the last 2 teams which only arrived later. For a moment there, I almost thought that I had brought my violin for nothing. Not too long after that thought had made its way into my head, I was called up to perform. 'Ok, so maybe I was wrong' I thought. I walked to the stage alongside Daniel Kong, I whispered to him, 'good luck'. I'd say we started off pretty well. And then it went on... untill we finally ended. it actually felt better than I expected. Not to mention Zhe Xuan's singing... haha, I'm just joking. Everybody was shouting 'encore!' at the end of it. So, the sec 1s did get it, but in this way: All the sec 2s got onto the stage and sang. After that, someone managed to egg Ms Shyamira and Mr Leo to come up and sing. It was all really fun and funny!
When it came time for us to leave, I slowly packed up and walked to the bus stop with, again, Daniel Kong. It wasn't untill after a lengthy wait and a good bit of talking that I finally found myself on the bus. And then there was a long, arduos lugging of the violin home. All in all, it was a fun day and I really hope that I'll get to perform and assist a new batch of sec 1s sometime soon. Catch you guys later.
